Evelyn Appel

velyne Appel, born in Paris, lost her childhood in 1940 when the Germans invaded France. With her parents and sister working in the resistance, her family fled Paris to a small village in central France, Lyon and Grenoble. As France became less safe, Evelyne's parents hired a guide to bring her to Switzerland. Although captured by the French Police, Evelyne crossed the Swiss border and was kept safe there until she was able to reconnect with her family. Her and her parents received visas to the US after her sister Rachel moved to the US as a war bride. Evelyn is interviewed by her grandson Matthew Holtz.
